Need a little pampering? Uma Oils to the rescue!

Years ago, when I was growing up, if someone had told me (with my breakout prone skin) that I would be using oil all over my body on a daily basis, I would have laughed at them. No, really. Oil? That is what you fry foods in, right? I mean, I am a girl with Southern USA roots….

Needless to say, I was thrilled when Uma Oils sent me their gorgeous Discovery Kit to sample. It’s their signature item and when you begin to use their products, you understand why. Out of this kit, I’ve been sampling their Pure Calm Wellness Oil, the Intensely Nourishing Hair Oil and the Absolute Anti Aging Body Oil (cause, hello, I am in my 40s  - time to slow ‘it’ down!).

If you know me, it’s no secret that I have Graves Disease. This thyroid disorder can wreak havoc on your body and make you an absolute anxious mess if you are not controlling it. One of the first things I noted when trying Pure Calm was that not only did its scent help me to honestly zen out, but when I did yoga or meditated, I felt more balanced, even tranquil if you can believe it! I couldn’t, so I made sure to use it every day for a few weeks before I wrote about it. I know Pure Calm will become a staple in my home.

Now, let’s talk about that Nourishing Hair Oil! This would be another product that took me by surprise. Not for one, but for two reasons: the first that my husband loved the smell and the second that it also worked, and it worked wonders. I’ve used oils on my hair to combat the frizzies that come from using too many hair products, or the damage I’ve done when I’ve gotten it colored. Usually these oils are way too heavy on my fine, fine hair. My hair is honestly so fine that blow waves won’t hold. When I used the hair oil, my hair was bouncy and looked healthy, not lifeless and like it needed to go back to bed.

The other product I am crushing on is the Absolute Anti Aging Body Oil. Oh, this product is so luxurious! It’s really nice to get out of a hot, steaming shower and apply some of this to me arms and hands - that’s where I can really see the difference. If I had my way, I would opt to take a bath in this oil every night, because there is nothing more pampering. One of the promises Uma Oil has in it’s description of this oil is that your skin feels velvety smooth after - and it really does. Yep, this oil is on my wish list for birthday gifts this year  - it’s in September in case anyone is keeping track.

PS: I have my niece trying their face oils, so I’ll be back in a few weeks with an update on the Absolute Anti Aging Face Oil and their Ultimate Brightening Face Oil, plus I have some other posts about oil coming up soon, so stay tuned.

Making Valentine's Day Great Again

February 14th. Valentine's Day, the day of love! It's such a simple day with a sweet message, yet every year we hear about the woes of those who simply do not want to celebrate this day or those who cry "foul!" because this holiday was made up by Hallmark.

I used to be this person...
